We’re excited to introduce our newest full-time staff member, Kara Rasmussen, as our new Program Coordinator. Kara will be responsible for screening, training, matching and overseeing our mentor and mentee matches in the role that was previously held by Moriah. Kara comes to Kids ‘n Kinship with a background in social work and children’s programs and a heart for volunteering in her community at places like Westview Elementary, the Apple Valley Band Boosters and 360 Communities. Kara lives in Apple Valley with her husband Jack and their three kids Logan, Ava & Annie. Kara believes in the power and beauty that an invested community can play in the lives of our youth, and has even seen it firsthand in her own kids’ lives. She looks forward to being part of the Kids ‘n Kinship work of invested Staff, Volunteer Mentors, and Mentees and their families.
Moriah is moving to a part-time position (Tues-Fri, 20-25 hours a week) that includes in-taking mentors and mentees and providing program support through organizing the E-news and Quarterly Chat Groups.
With almost 15 years of experience in the program, Jerod is being promoted to the Program Manager position where he will manage the process that mentors and mentees go through to be matched. He will also supervise the program coordinator and interns who work with our youth, family and volunteer participants in addition to grant support work and reporting.
