Due to recent reductions in funding, we have made the extremely difficult decision to temporarily pause accepting new youth referrals into our program. While we remain deeply committed to serving children and families in our community, this pause is necessary to ensure we can continue providing the high-quality mentoring experience that has been the foundation of our work for more than 53 years.

We currently have more than 35 youth waiting to be matched with a mentor, and our immediate focus will be on actively recruiting and screening new volunteer mentors so that we can serve the children already on our waitlist. We are committed to maintaining the standards of safety, support, and quality that families have come to expect from our program. At the same time, we will be actively pursuing new funding opportunities and strengthening community partnerships to support the long-term sustainability of the program. Our hope is to reopen applications for new youth participants later this fall, contingent upon securing additional resources.

We are grateful for the continued support of our community, volunteers, donors, and partners. Their investment in our mission helps ensure that children continue to have access to the caring, consistent adult relationships that can make a lasting difference in their lives. We look forward to welcoming new youth into the program as soon as circumstances allow.
